Aboriginal Rock Art in region

Katherine Region NT

The Katherine Region is set amidst scenic grazing land which also comprises Katherine Gorge located within the Nitmiluk NP. The park features many superb ancient Aboriginal rock paintings which sadly are damaged when the gorge regularly floods.  Butterfly Gorge is known for its tropical rainforest areas. The park offers camping, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing and fishing.
